The company was founded in 1987 from a spare bedroom in Jeremy Brown’s first house on Daintry Terrace in Macclesfield. Jeremy bought and began to let four more properties over the first four years.

The company’s portfolio increased to eight houses by the late nineties. The company became known as HouseMates in 2004. The property portfolio has now increased to 16 properties in Macclesfield, and one in Buxton. Each of these properties is owned and managed by HouseMates.
